Jen Meyers and her husband Arnold Jacobson are recent transplants to Maui from Yardley, PA. Involved in the arts (singing, acting, dancing, radio, television) since childhood, and growing up in Winnipeg Manitoba she was involved with Manitoba Theater Center and Rainbow Stage. Moving to the states in 1969, she was involved in community theater both on and off stage in Kentucky, Northern Virginia and Washington DC where she also sang with the Congressional Chorus. Jen has a MA in Communication, Culture and Technology from Georgetown University and is retired from Tibotec, a subsidiary of Janssen where she was a Senior Regulatory Associate working on HIV drugs. She is enjoying all the arts Maui has to offer and is excited to have such exhilarating volunteer opportunities. Jen has always been an enthusiastic supporter of the arts no matter where she lived. After retirement from the pharmaceutical industry, she knew she would become a volunteer and was excited at the opportunities on Maui. She is a firm believer in volunteering and participating with organizations whose missions align with her personal beliefs. Exposure to the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra and singing with the Winnipeg Girls Choir while in elementary school instilled a love of a music which continues to the present. With 50+ years of theater (on and off stage), dance, and choral experience, Jen understands the complexities associated with the arts. Jen sings with Maui Choral Arts and the Maui Chamber Orchestra Chorus. She is thrilled to be working to enrich lives in Maui County by promoting the amazing music of Maui Chamber Orchestra and working with CHIMES to bring music to lives of our keiki.
